Kansas City Rib Sauce
A classic, thick, tomato-based Kansas City-style barbecue sauce, ideal for enhancing pork ribs.

Instructions

Heat oil in a medium saucepan, then add garlic and cook for 20 seconds over medium-high heat.

Stir in ketchup, water, cider vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, and cayenne.

Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 13 to 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Remove the sauce from heat and cool for 5 minutes.

Before using, set aside a portion for serving as a table sauce.
