Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Cream butter and sugars with an electric mixer.

Beat in eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup and level it.

Sprinkle flour, yeast, and salt over the butter-sugar mixture.

Gently mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms, avoiding overmixing.

Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

Chill dough for 24-36 hours, or bake immediately.

Line a heavy cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Portion 3/4-cup dough scoops onto the lined sheet, spacing them 1 inch apart; bake 4 to 6 cookies per batch on the center rack.

Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce oven to 350 F and continue baking for 8-12 minutes until edges are browned.

Cool cookies on the sheet for 10 minutes.
