Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.

  2. Cream butter and sugars with an electric mixer.

  3. Beat in eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  4. Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup and level it.

  5. Sprinkle flour, yeast, and salt over the butter-sugar mixture.

  6. Gently mix in dry ingredients until a soft dough forms, avoiding overmixing.

  7. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

  8. Chill dough for 24-36 hours, or bake immediately.

  9. Line a heavy cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  10. Portion 3/4-cup dough scoops onto the lined sheet, spacing them 1 inch apart; bake 4 to 6 cookies per batch on the center rack.

  11. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce oven to 350 F and continue baking for 8-12 minutes until edges are browned.

  12. Cool cookies on the sheet for 10 minutes.

  13. Transfer cookies to a rack and repeat with remaining dough.
