Japanese Baked Dynamite Appetizers

A rich, Japanese restaurant-style seafood appetizer features mixed seafood and mushrooms baked with mayonnaise and topped with capelin roe.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and line a muffin pan with aluminum foil cups.

  2. If using frozen seafood, boil water, simmer seafood for 10 minutes until cooked, then drain and cool.

  3. Sauté sliced mushrooms to remove excess water, then cool and drain.

  4. Combine cooked seafood, cooled mushrooms, mayonnaise, and masago in a bowl.

  5. Scoop the mixture into the prepared foil cups.

  6. Bake for 15 minutes until browned; optionally broil for the last 2-3 minutes for darker tops.

  7. Garnish with additional masago.
