Jamaica Hibiscus Margarita

Instructions

  1. Start boiling water.

  2. Add hibiscus flowers and sugar, stirring for 1 minute until dissolved.

  3. Pour the mixture into a noncorrosive bowl and steep for 20 minutes to 2 hours.

  4. Strain the liquid, pressing solids to extract maximum liquid; adjust taste with water for potency or sugar for tartness, then refrigerate.

  5. Combine tequila, prepared agua de jamaica, simple syrup, and lime juice in an ice-filled cocktail shaker.

  6. Shake thoroughly.

  7. Strain into chilled margarita glasses.

  8. Garnish with a lime wedge.
