Jalapeño Macaroni and Cheese

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and start boiling salted water for pasta.

Grease a 2-quart baking dish.

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse.

In a medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter, then stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.

Gradually add milk or half-and-half and Boursin cheese; cook, stirring, until hot and thickened.

Stir in cheese and jalapeños until melted; season with salt and pepper, thinning with extra milk if necessary.

Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked pasta and spoon into the prepared baking dish.

Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and toss with bread crumbs until coated.

Sprinkle the buttered bread crumbs evenly over the casserole.
