Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and start boiling salted water for pasta.

  2. Grease a 2-quart baking dish.

  3. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse.

  4. In a medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of butter, then stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Gradually add milk or half-and-half and Boursin cheese; cook, stirring, until hot and thickened.

  6. Stir in cheese and jalapeños until melted; season with salt and pepper, thinning with extra milk if necessary.

  7. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked pasta and spoon into the prepared baking dish.

  8. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and toss with bread crumbs until coated.

  9. Sprinkle the buttered bread crumbs evenly over the casserole.

  10. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly browned.
