Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, cinnamon, and water in a small saucepan; cook for 2-3 minutes, swirling occasionally, until thickened into a syrup, then cool.

  2. Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar in a bowl until soft peaks form.

  3. Pour root beer into two tall glasses and place them in the refrigerator.

  4. Add 2-3 scoops of ice cream to each glass.

  5. Top with whipped cream, drizzle with cinnamon syrup, and add a cherry if desired. Serve immediately.
