How to Make Original Irish Coffee

Instructions

  1. Place 2 teaspoons of packed brown sugar into a warm heatproof glass.

  2. Add 4 ounces of strong, hot coffee and 1 1/2 ounces of Irish whiskey, then stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. Float 1 ounce of lightly whipped heavy cream on top by slowly pouring it over the back of a spoon.

  4. Do not stir; drink the Irish coffee through the cream.
