Instructions

  1. Place cherries and sugar into 1-quart (or two 1-pint) jars, filling them without cramming.

  2. Cover the cherries completely with maraschino liqueur.

  3. Shake for 30 seconds to dissolve the sugar, then refrigerate for 1 to 2 weeks, shaking twice daily.

  4. After 1 week, taste the cherries for desired flavor before using them as a garnish.
