Add 1/2 teaspoon fine salt and the rinsed rice to the boiling water, stirring with a fork.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until water evaporates; continue simmering for 5 more minutes if needed until rice is tender.

Remove from heat, stir in 1 tablespoon unsalted butter if desired, fluff with a fork, and serve, optionally garnished with 1 tablespoon chopped parsley.
