Hot Paprika and Tomatoes (Gypsy Sauce) for Schnitzel

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion slices until soft, then add bell pepper slices and cook briefly.

  2. Stir in garlic, flour, and both types of paprika; cook for 1-2 minutes.

  3. Add tomato paste and stir to combine.

  4. Gradually incorporate chicken broth, stirring until the sauce thickens.

  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.

  6. Season with lemon juice, sweetener, salt, and pepper to taste, then serve.
