Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine bulgur, 1 cup milk, salt, and brown sugar.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 12 to 16 minutes, stirring frequently, until thickened and tender.

  3. Add more milk or water as needed toward the end of cooking to achieve your desired consistency.

  4. Serve the hot bulgur cereal with optional maple syrup, brown sugar, berries, raisins, or dried cranberries.
