Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron and, if holding batches, preheat an oven to 200 F.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, then incorporate melted butter, milk, and vanilla.

  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, whisking until just combined, then let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes.

  5. Lightly coat the waffle iron if necessary, then cook waffles per manufacturer's directions, typically 4 minutes per waffle; keep warm in the oven if preparing multiple servings.

  6. Serve hot with butter, syrup, or other preferred toppings.
