Homemade Sugar Cubes

Homemade sugar cubes can be easily customized with colors and flavors, then shaped using candy molds.

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a bowl, stirring until fully moistened to a wet sand consistency.

  2. If desired, incorporate a small amount of coloring and flavoring, mixing thoroughly; add more color cautiously if needed.

  3. If the mixture is too dry, add water a spoonful at a time until workable.

  4. Firmly press the sugar into candy mold cavities, then scrape off any excess from the tops.

  5. Allow the sugar to dry completely at room temperature for 1 hour to overnight, or microwave safe molds for 25-30 seconds, then cool.

  6. Gently remove the dried sugar shapes from the molds.

  7. Let the shapes air dry completely at room temperature if necessary.

  8. Store finished sugar cubes indefinitely in an airtight container.
