Instructions

  1. Start boiling water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, then add granulated and brown sugar, stirring until fully dissolved to form a syrup.

  2. Reduce heat to a simmer, stir in pumpkin puree, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and ginger; simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat, cover, and allow the mixture to steep and cool for 2 to 3 hours.

  4. Strain the cooled syrup through a cheesecloth-lined fine-mesh strainer, ensuring approximately 2.5 cups of spiced syrup.

  5. Stir in the rum and vanilla extract until thoroughly blended.

  6. Transfer the finished pumpkin liqueur into clean bottles or jars with tight seals.
