Instructions

  1. Combine yeast, sugar, and 1 cup warm water in a large bowl; let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Stir in salt and olive oil. Gradually add flour, mixing until the dough pulls away from the bowl.

  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 4 minutes until smooth.

  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.

  5. Punch down the dough, divide into 2 balls, and let rest for 15 minutes.

  6. Shape each ball into a circle on a floured surface, rest for 10 minutes, then stretch to your desired size and thickness.
