Homemade Phyllo Dough

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix by hand, adding water as needed, until a dough forms.

  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 15-20 minutes until soft and smooth.

  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

  4. Divide the dough into 8 to 10 equal pieces.

  5. To create phyllo sheets using a pasta maker, run each piece through multiple times, starting at setting 1 and increasing the setting to 9 for pastries or 6 for small fried pies.

  6. Alternatively, roll out each piece by hand on a floured surface to paper-thin thickness.
