Homemade Lemonade

A simple and refreshing homemade lemonade recipe uses just three ingredients: lemons, sugar, and water.

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of water and sugar in a saucepan; boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  2. Remove from heat, cool to room temperature, then refrigerate the simple syrup.

  3. Juice and strain lemons to yield 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.

  4. In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, 5 cups of cold water, and the chilled simple syrup.

  5. Serve over ice, optionally garnished with lemon slices or mint.
