Instructions

  1. Sauté sliced mushrooms with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a large pan over medium-high heat for 10-13 minutes until browned and soft.

  2. Transfer cooked mushrooms to a food processor with rice, tempeh, oats, beet, nutritional yeast, steak sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, vegetable bouillon, and optional liquid smoke; pulse until finely ground, resembling ground beef.

  3. Divide the mixture into four portions, form into patties, and place on parchment paper.

  4. Heat canola oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.

  5. Serve patties on buns with desired toppings.
