Homemade Cranberry Liqueur

Instructions

  1. Rinse and inspect cranberries, discarding any poor quality berries.

  2. Combine wine and sugar in a pot; bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.

  3. Add cranberries, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for about 2 minutes until one or two cranberries pop.

  4. Remove from heat, cover, and let cool completely (several hours or overnight).

  5. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl.

  6. Stir in brandy, then transfer to a clean, sealable bottle.

  7. Seal and let sit at room temperature for at least three days before serving.
