Combine 2 cups ketchup, 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar, 3 tablespoons molasses, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper in a medium saucepan.

Place the saucepan over medium heat; bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and continue to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until the sauce reduces and thickens.
