Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Start boiling water for pasta.

In a large sauté pan, heat cream and butter over medium-low heat until simmering, then reduce heat and gently simmer for 15 minutes to reduce the sauce.

Remove the pan from heat, cover, then gradually stir in cheese until melted and well combined, adjusting consistency with additional cream if necessary.

Stir in chopped parsley if using, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

Toss the sauce with hot cooked pasta and serve immediately.
