Instructions

  1. Start boiling quartered potatoes in salted water until tender; drain and mash.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C) and butter a 2-quart baking dish.

  3. Beat butter and cream cheese into the mashed potatoes. Stir in 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and the next 6 ingredients thoroughly.

  4. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 to 35 minutes until hot and bubbling.

  5. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and bake for an additional 5 minutes until melted.
