Hoisin Glazed Mushroom Vegetarian Steamed Bun Recipe
Vegetarian steamed buns are complemented by hoisin-glazed mushrooms, toasted sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro.

Instructions

Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.

Clean and thinly slice shiitake mushrooms, then trim enokitake mushrooms.

Add mushrooms to the hot oil and brown them on both sides for several minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey.

Increase heat, add the hoisin marinade to the mushrooms, and cook until the sauce reduces and thickens; then remove from heat.

Prepare the steamed buns according to package directions.

Fill each bun with kewpie mayo, glazed mushrooms, pickled red onion, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Serve.
