Hoisin Glazed Mushroom Vegetarian Steamed Bun Recipe

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Clean and thinly slice shiitake mushrooms, then trim enokitake mushrooms.

  3. Add mushrooms to the hot oil and brown them on both sides for several minutes.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey.

  5. Increase heat, add the hoisin marinade to the mushrooms, and cook until the sauce reduces and thickens; then remove from heat.

  6. Prepare the steamed buns according to package directions.

  7. Fill each bun with kewpie mayo, glazed mushrooms, pickled red onion, cilantro, and sesame seeds. Serve.
