Hibachi-Style Steak

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, white vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger, and white pepper in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat to low, cook for 3 minutes while stirring, then remove and let cool.

  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high.

  4. Grill steaks on each side until grill marks form and they are rare.

  5. Remove steaks from grill, then cut into bite-sized cubes.

  6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  7. Add steak pieces and mushrooms to the hot skillet, cook for 3 minutes or until mushrooms brown, tossing occasionally.

  8. Stir in the prepared sauce, cook for 2 to 3 minutes more until mushrooms are cooked and steak reaches desired doneness.

  9. Season with salt and pepper.
