Instructions

  1. Combine beaten egg, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon parsley, and 1/2 cup water in a large bowl. Add ground beef and mix well, then shape into small balls and set aside.

  2. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven. Add sausage, removed from casings, and garlic; cook, breaking up the sausage, until browned, then drain excess fat.

  3. Stir in all remaining sauce ingredients, including the prepared meatballs. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 2 to 3 hours, stirring frequently.
