Instructions

  1. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, remove the center from a slice of bread.

  2. Heat a medium frying pan over medium heat with butter; swirl to coat the pan.

  3. Place the bread in the pan, cook until golden, then flip.

  4. Crack an egg into the heart opening; reduce heat to low, cover, and cook until the egg is set, about 2 minutes.

  5. Toast the removed bread piece in the pan.

  6. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
