Instructions

Start boiling 2 cups of water in a separate pot.

Place fermented corn or millet dough in a medium pot.

Add 1 cup of cold water to the dough, crumbling it to form a smooth paste.

Heat the dough paste over high heat, stirring occasionally, until it simmers.

Pour the 2 cups of boiling water into the simmering mixture and bring it to a boil, stirring continuously; whisk out any lumps.

Stir in salt, ground cloves, ginger, and chili powder, then simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

Add your desired amount of sugar before serving and stir.
