Instructions

  1. Lightly wet an 8x8-inch pan.

  2. To prepare the raspberry layer: Soften 4 tablespoons gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water for 5 minutes.

  3. In a medium saucepan, heat raspberry juice, 6 tablespoons sugar, and 4 tablespoons corn syrup, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  4. Stir in the softened gelatin until dissolved; optionally, add food coloring.

  5. Pour this mixture into the pan and refrigerate for 1 hour until firm.

  6. To prepare the orange layer: Soften 4 tablespoons gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water for 5 minutes.

  7. In a medium saucepan, heat orange juice, 6 tablespoons sugar, and 4 tablespoons corn syrup, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  8. Stir in the softened gelatin until dissolved; optionally, add food coloring.

  9. Let the orange mixture cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then pour it over the raspberry layer and refrigerate for another hour.

  10. Once fully set, remove the confection from the pan and slice into long, thin strips.
