Instructions

  1. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat; test readiness by dropping a small amount of batter, which should float without changing color.

  2. In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, sugar, fennel seeds, egg, vanilla essence, cinnamon, and milk; stir until sugar dissolves.

  3. Whisk whole-wheat flour and baking powder together in a separate bowl.

  4. Slowly incorporate the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until a thick, lump-free batter is achieved.

  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying in batches without overcrowding the pan.

  6. Turn fritters as they cook until golden brown on all sides.
