Guinness Bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

  4. Add the milk, black treacle, and Guinness; mix to create a wet dough.

  5. Grease a standard loaf tin, add the dough, and bake for 40-45 minutes or until well-risen and thoroughly cooked.

  6. Allow to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
