Grilled Tri-Tip Steak

Instructions

  1. Combine white vinegar, vegetable oil, soy sauce, garlic, black pepper, and salt for the marinade.

  2. Place tri-tip steak and marinade into a resealable bag, ensuring the steak is coated, and marinate for 2 to 6 hours or overnight.

  3. Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium (500 F to 600 F).

  4. Remove the steak from the marinade, discard the marinade, and place the steak on the hot grill.

  5. Grill for 12 to 15 minutes, turning once or twice to achieve an even sear on all surfaces, until desired doneness is reached.

  6. Rest the cooked steak for 5 to 10 minutes, tenting with aluminum foil if resting longer than 5 minutes.

  7. Slice the tri-tip against the grain into thin pieces and serve.
