Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill to medium-high heat (400-475 F).

  2. Wash and pat dry romaine hearts, remove outer leaves, then halve lengthwise keeping cores intact.

  3. Brush romaine surfaces with olive oil.

  4. Grill hearts cut side down for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes per side until charred and slightly wilted.

  5. Arrange grilled romaine on a platter, drizzle with balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle with Parmesan and black pepper.
