Grilled Lamb Burgers With Mint

Minty lamb burgers, best served on pita or buns, pair wonderfully with a homemade yogurt sauce or red pepper aioli.

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  2. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, chopped onion, bread crumbs, chopped mint, egg, garlic, cumin, black pepper, and Aleppo pepper, omitting salt.

  3. Mix well, then form into 4 patties and create a thumb indentation in the center of each.

  4. Oil grill grates thoroughly.

  5. Place patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.

  6. Remove cooked burgers from the grill and tent with foil.

  7. Brush buns with oil, then toast on the grill for 1-2 minutes.

  8. If using pita, wrap in foil and warm on the grill for 3-4 minutes per side.

  9. Assemble burgers with desired toppings.
