Grilled Calamari - Kalamari tis Skaras

A quick and easy grilled calamari dish, perfect as an appetizer or light main meal, best served with fresh lemon juice and ouzo.

Instructions

  1. Heat a grill to high heat (500-600 F).

  2. Slice calamari bodies into ½-inch rings. Combine oil, garlic, oregano, mint, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add calamari slices and tentacles, toss to coat, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  3. Drain the calamari, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Thread calamari rings and tentacles onto metal skewers or use a grill pan.

  4. Grill calamari over high heat, turning once, for 1 to 2 minutes until opaque. Remove from grill and serve immediately with fresh lemon juice.
