Grilled Baby Octopus With Lemon

A simple Greek-style recipe for grilled baby octopus, often prepared using readily available frozen whole octopus.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to high and add wood smoke for flavor.

  2. Combine octopus, olive oil, lemon zest and juice, oregano, salt, pepper, cloves, and garlic in a bag or container.

  3. Massage the marinade into the octopus and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes, massaging periodically.

  4. Skewer the octopus while the grill heats; soak wooden skewers for 30 minutes if used.

  5. Grill the skewered octopus over the smoky fire, covered, for 2 to 3 minutes.

  6. Flip and grill for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.

  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
