Green Tomato Soup With Country Ham Recipe

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat butter, then sauté ham, onion, and garlic until onion softens.

  2. Stir in chicken broth, chopped green and red tomatoes, and jalapeño. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

  3. Blend soup until nearly smooth using a blender or immersion blender, optionally removing some ham pieces for garnish before blending.

  4. Return blended soup to the saucepan, add celery salt, bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.

  5. Season with salt, pepper, and hot sauce to taste, then serve.
