Greek Fisherman's Soup Recipe (Kakavia)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine all soup base ingredients, excluding zucchini and lemon juice, and bring to a boil; cook for 15 minutes over medium-high heat.

  2. Add zucchini and continue cooking for 5 minutes.

  3. To prevent bones from getting into the soup, loosely wrap whole fish in tulle.

  4. Add the wrapped fish, lobster (if using), and cuttlefish (if using) to the soup base; cook uncovered for 20-25 minutes after the boil resumes.

  5. Add lemon juice 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
