Grandmother's Cinnamon-Sugar Kuchen (Dairy)
A rich kosher sour cream coffee cake, this Cinnamon-Sugar Kuchen features a distinct ribbon and topping of spiced sugar.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C) and prepare a large tube pan by greasing and flouring it.

Combine cinnamon and sugar in one small bowl, and place melted butter in another; set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk cake flour (or all-purpose flour with cornstarch) and baking powder. Rub butter into the flour until crumbly, then stir in sugar.

Form a well in the flour mixture, add eggs, milk, and sour cream, then mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined into a thick batter.

Spread half the batter into the pan. Drizzle with half the melted butter and sprinkle with half the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Top with the remaining batter, then drizzle with the rest of the melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean, taking care not to overcook.
