Grand Marnier Cake

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Cream butter with 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in egg yolks.

  3. Sift dry ingredients; alternately add to the butter mixture with sour cream, beating until smooth.

  4. Stir in orange zest and chopped pecans.

  5. Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into the batter.

  6. Pour batter into a buttered 9-inch tube pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.

  7. Combine 1/2 cup sugar with orange juice and Grand Marnier; pour over the hot cake.

  8. Decorate with pecan halves and cool on a rack before removing from the pan.
