Gluten-Free Pie Crust

A simple, three-ingredient gluten-free pie crust is crafted from gluten-free flour, shortening or butter, and cold water.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F.

  2. In a medium bowl, cut the shortening or butter into the gluten-free flour until crumbly.

  3. Add cold water and work the dough by hand until soft, then form it into a single ball.

  4. Press the dough into the bottom and sides of an 8-inch pie pan, or roll it out to line the pan and crimp the edges.

  5. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork several times.

  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown, then cool completely on a wire rack before adding pie filling.
