Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Combine oats, flour, 2/3 cup brown sugar, butter, and salt in a bowl; cut in the butter until walnut-sized crumbs form, then chill the mixture.

  3. In a separate bowl, toss sliced apples, cinnamon, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice, and cornstarch until coated.

  4. Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish. Transfer the apple mixture to the dish, spreading evenly, then sprinkle the chilled crumb topping over the apples.

  5. Bake for approximately 50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving warm.
