Funfetti Waffle Birthday Cake

A fast, colorful birthday cake can be easily prepared using a waffle iron, requiring no cake pans or oven.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron to low and coat with oil or non-stick spray.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, water, melted butter, and eggs until thick and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. Stir in 1/4 cup of sprinkles.

  4. Spoon batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until done; repeat with remaining batter.

  5. Remove and separate the cooked waffles, then let them cool.

  6. Frost each waffle square evenly and stack them to form the cake.

  7. Apply additional frosting to the entire exterior of the waffle cake.

  8. Press the frosted cake into the remaining cup of sprinkles, coating all sides.

  9. Refrigerate the cake until ready to serve, then top with candles and slice.
