Instructions

  1. Thaw a frozen bread loaf by placing it in a greased pan, covering with greased plastic wrap, and refrigerating for 10-12 hours or leaving at room temperature for 4-5 hours.

  2. Grease two 8-inch round cake pans with cold butter.

  3. Combine brown sugar, finely chopped pecans, and cinnamon in a medium bowl; mix well.

  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll the thawed dough into an 18x6-inch rectangle, allowing it to rest as needed for elasticity.

  5. Brush melted butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top.

  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log from the long end and slice it into 20-22 uniform pieces.

  7. Arrange the rolls in the prepared cake pans, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a draft-free place for about 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

  8. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  9. Drizzle 3 tablespoons of heavy cream over the rolls in each pan and bake for 25 minutes.

  10. Transfer cinnamon rolls to racks to cool until slightly warm.

  11. For the icing, sift powdered sugar into a bowl, add milk and vanilla, then stir until blended; adjust consistency with more milk or powdered sugar as needed.

  12. Drizzle or spread the icing over the warm rolls, then remove from pans and serve.
