Instructions
-
Thaw a frozen bread loaf by placing it in a greased pan, covering with greased plastic wrap, and refrigerating for 10-12 hours or leaving at room temperature for 4-5 hours.
-
Grease two 8-inch round cake pans with cold butter.
-
Combine brown sugar, finely chopped pecans, and cinnamon in a medium bowl; mix well.
-
On a lightly floured surface, roll the thawed dough into an 18x6-inch rectangle, allowing it to rest as needed for elasticity.
-
Brush melted butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top.
-
Roll the dough tightly into a log from the long end and slice it into 20-22 uniform pieces.
-
Arrange the rolls in the prepared cake pans, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a draft-free place for about 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
-
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
-
Drizzle 3 tablespoons of heavy cream over the rolls in each pan and bake for 25 minutes.
-
Transfer cinnamon rolls to racks to cool until slightly warm.
-
For the icing, sift powdered sugar into a bowl, add milk and vanilla, then stir until blended; adjust consistency with more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
-
Drizzle or spread the icing over the warm rolls, then remove from pans and serve.
