Fried Plantain Chips (Chifles)

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 to 2 inches of oil in a saucepan to 360 F over medium-high heat.

  2. Peel plantains, then slice them crosswise into very thin, 1-2 millimeter pieces.

  3. Fry plantain slices in batches for 2 to 3 minutes until golden.

  4. Remove fried plantains, drain on paper towels, and season with salt.
