Fried Halloumi Cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick frying pan over high heat.

  2. Slice 8 ounces of halloumi cheese into 3/8-inch pieces and blot dry.

  3. Brush both sides of the halloumi slices lightly with 1 tablespoon olive oil.

  4. Sear the cheese in the hot pan for about 1 minute on the first side and 1 to 2 minutes on the other, until a deep brown crust develops.

  5. Garnish the fried cheese with pepper, oregano or mint leaves, 4 to 5 halved cherry tomatoes, and vinaigrette before serving.
