French Toast Grilled Cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat a large griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, dijon, onion powder, sugar, and pepper in a medium bowl.

  3. Assemble four sandwiches by layering Swiss cheese, ham, and an additional slice of Swiss cheese between two slices of bread.

  4. Dip each sandwich thoroughly into the egg mixture, coating both sides.

  5. Reduce griddle heat to low, add butter, and spread. Place the coated sandwiches on the griddle and cover with small lids.

  6. Cook until one side is browned and the cheese is slightly melted, then flip and cover again.

  7. Continue cooking until the second side is browned and the cheese is fully melted, then remove from heat.

  8. Cut sandwiches in half and serve with raspberry jam or honey mustard.
