Instructions

  1. Start boiling water for pasta; cook according to package directions.

  2. In a sauté pan, heat 2 tablespoons butter and olive oil over medium heat.

  3. Add onion and salt; sauté for 20 minutes until softened and golden.

  4. Stir in garlic and flour; cook for 2-3 minutes over low heat.

  5. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme leaves; stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until thickened.

  6. Separately, melt 1 tablespoon butter in a small pan, then add breadcrumbs, toss to coat, and toast until lightly browned.
