Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F with a rack in the center.

  2. Toss apple slices with lemon juice in a large bowl.

  3. Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle over apples and toss to coat.

  4. Transfer the apple mixture into an unbaked pie crust, mounding the apples.

  5. In a medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter pieces until crumbly.

  6. Sprinkle the streusel over the apples in the crust.

  7. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes.

  8. Reduce oven temperature to 350 F and bake for another 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are tender and juices bubble.
