Focaccia Pizza Recipe
A thick and hearty focaccia pizza recipe, requiring minimal active preparation and a few hours for dough proofing.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450 F with a rack in the center.

Combine warm water, honey, and yeast; let stand 5 minutes.

Add 2 1/4 cups flour, salt, and 2 tablespoons olive oil; mix to form a shaggy dough.

Using a dough hook, add remaining 1/2 cup flour and mix 3-4 minutes to create a sticky dough.

Grease a large bowl with 1 tablespoon olive oil, place dough, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.

Add 3 tablespoons olive oil to a 10x15 or 9x13-inch sheet pan.

Transfer dough to the pan and let rest 15 minutes.

Stretch dough to fit the pan, cover, and let rise 20 minutes.

Dimple dough with fingertips, then bake 10 minutes.

Remove focaccia; spread with pizza sauce, then top with mozzarella, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired).

Return to oven and bake 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and crust is golden.

Remove pizza, drizzle with 2 teaspoons olive oil, sprinkle with Parmesan and basil. Slice and serve.
