Fluffy Maple Frosting

A smooth, creamy maple frosting is prepared using maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, and confectioners' sugar.

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup over medium heat; bring to a boil while stirring constantly.

  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until brown sugar dissolves.

  3. Remove from heat and cool completely at room temperature.

  4. Transfer the cooled syrup mixture to a mixing bowl.

  5. Gradually beat in 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, cream or milk, vanilla, and maple flavoring, beating until smooth and fluffy.

  6. Adjust consistency with additional powdered sugar or cream/milk until spreadable.

  7. Use immediately to frost cakes or cupcakes.
